Number One Son went to his first school dance tonight. A Junior High dance.

I ain’t ready for this.

  2. Get over it, Pal. Just be glad you’re not on the other side of that equation yet – my daughters are 15 and 16 and the younger is already attracting guys who hang out at the house and watch for some quiet time…

    It’s the nature of the beast…

    Hope your young guy had a blast! Not the stilted, repressed, and self-conscious times I remember having at those Jr. High dances…

  3. He did have a good time AND it was held at his new Catholic school, so if it wasn’t too repressed, then things have definitely changed in the world.

    If you hadn’t had junior high dances, Mark, how would you have ever learned to recognize the smells of Binaca and Herbal Essence shampoo? Or listened to 14 playings of “Nights in White Satin”?

  4. First. Remark: As long as he is dancing better than me, I don’t see a problem at all.
    Second. Question: Is there anybody else out there who is asking if YOU are ready?
    Third: No help but support: You are definteley not alone not being ready.

    Fourth. Hope: Although not being ready the world is still surviving.
